CSPS/RMAPS Joint Annual Meeting 2008
California Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS) held its 2008 Joint Annual Meeting with the Rocky Mountain Association of Plastic Surgeons (RMAPS) in Dana Point, California from June 5 to 8, 2008. Attended by plastic surgeons from a wide geographic area of 9 states (California, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming), the forum has been a great venue for sharing valuable experience and learning opportunity. This is the second occassion both societies combined their annual meeting, increasing the quality and level of relationship among the plastic surgeons in western USA. Genepharm participated for the first time in this prominent event to further showcase the Dermesis products in the field.
Dermesis is the first and only one of its kind in the post procedures care. As the skin became especially vulnerable after laser treatments, there is no definitive consensus on the skin maintaince during the healing process. The usual use of moisturizers only address one aspect of the hydration need. Dermesis incorporates Calcium-T technology, which restores the epidermal calcium concentration gradient, essential to promote the cell turnover and recover the skin barrier function. The process will provide hydration to the healing skin as well as the return of natural moisturizing factors and anti-oxidant endogenous to the epidermis. With this treatment, the skin heals faster and with almost no complications or unwanted after effects. The physicians have eagerly reviewed clinical evidences of Dermesis, as more of the plastic surgeons realized the unmet need of effective post procedure skin care products. With more plastic surgeons turn to laser procedures to enhance the surgeries, the use of post care products which accelerate the healing process and minimize downtime for patients is much appreciated. Dermesis has been shown to be effective and safe for use in the dermatological field, so for the attendees of this CSPS/RMAPS meeting, the application in plastical surgery practices is a natural expansion for the excellent products.
